Symphysis - Releaze

SymPhysis Medical introduces an innovative technology called "releaze," designed to address a prevalent complication associated with late-stage cancers: malignant pleural effusion (MPE). MPE can lead to substantial discomfort, such as severe breathlessness and chest pain, affecting approximately 15% of cancer patients. This video has been crafted to highlight the advantages of their cutting-edge solution, "releaze," in a straightforward manner, emphasizing its superiority over outdated technologies and its user-friendly design.

ASK

My task revolved around creating an animated video that aimed to explain Symphysis's cutting-edge drainage technology. The primary goal was to highlight the unique benefits of this technology in comparison to traditional, aging procedures. The video served a dual purpose, initially targeting stakeholders and later to have a permanent home on the website.

Approach

In order to demonstrate the user-friendliness and advantages of Releaze, we created a straightforward illustrative style, narrated from the perspective of an average patient. The concept was to present the array of options available to the patient, contrasting the well-established older procedure with Symphysis's innovative treatment and its associated benefits.

Design

I employed a monochromatic palette to depict the outdated process, while a vibrant and colourful palette was employed to illustrate the improved quality of life for the patients.

“Tom demonstrated a keen interest in the project and was very flexible in his approach, and was great at guiding us to a style and approach that reflected the sensitive nature of our messaging. I found my interactions with Tom to be very open and collaborative. Tom also assisted us with finding a voiceover artist for the video that was very important to set the appropriate tone for a product in palliative care. I would certainly recommend Tom for anyone who has a message to get across in a very distinct visual and memorable way “.
